尊敬的各位来宾各位朋友大家上午好！

五月莺歌燕舞日又到棕味飘香时，我们在这里宏扬中华文化，传承爱国传统精神，欢聚一堂共度端午传统佳节。我代表晚晴向今天光临的各位嘉宾和朋友，表示最热烈的欢迎！

晚晴自成立至今已逾九年，坚持为中老年华人朋友服务，自娱自乐，又不忘弘扬中华传统文化。服务会员又奉献社会。关爱互助，学习交流，不断加深对新西兰社会的了解，为新中友谊作出了自己的努力与贡献，得到了政府与社会各界的肯定与好评！这是晚晴全体会员共同努力的结果，也是与社会各界，特别是今天到会的各位嘉宾支持分不开。在此向各位嘉宾表示最诚挚的谢意！感谢各位多年来对我们晚晴一贯的多方面的支持与帮助！

今年是新中建交45周年，我们为新中友谊的不断加强高兴！为祖国的日益富强自豪！我们愿与各社会团体更好地交流与合作，加强与各族群人民之间的团结，共同为建设一个“和平，健康，欢乐，友谊”的和谐社会而努力！

Supporting the patriotic tradition while demonstating Chinese culture

Good morning，distinguished guests and friends！

In China, the month of May is regarded as a particular time. At this time Chinese say while we hear birds singing and dancing we can smell the fragrance of the dumplings(zhongzi). We are now gathering here to show our traditional Chinese culture and display our patriotic tradition. In this way we celebrate one of our traditional festivals--Dragon-boat Festival. We warmly welcome our distinguished guests and friends.

In the past 9 years since our society ‘s establisment, we have adhered to serving the middle-aged and elderly Chinese folk in Hamilton. We have enjoyed ourselves by singing and dancing together while we have also shown our culture to the public. We have contributed to the public while serving our members. We have cared and learned about each other. We have also developed our understanding about all that is New Zealand and sought to enhance New Zealand - China friendship. The community, of which we are a part, welcomes and appreciates our contributions. We know it is only with your help and support that we have achieved so much. I sincerely extend my great thanks to you all.

This year marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between China and New Zealand. We are happy for the growing consolidation of New Zealand-China friendship. We are proud of our motherland becoming increasingly prosperous. We seek to build relationships with all ethnic groups to develop unity and celebrate our diversity. Thus we can help build a peaceful, healthy, jubilant, friendly and harmonious New Zealand.

Lastly we wish everyone here good health and happiness. We hope you’ll enjoy our festival celebration! Thank you!
